Brainstorm Books

If you are looking to clear off some shelves and make some extra cash, Brainstorm Books would love to consign your items. We will accept fiction and non-fiction books, homeschool and teaching materials, computer games, DVDs and educational games.

CONSIGNMENT PROCEDURES

1. Ask to be assigned a consignor number.
2. Make sure all books are clean and in good condition. Book covers can be cleaned by spraying Windex on a paper towel and wiping down. Books can be freshened with a light spraying of Lysol our Oust. Remember, the better condition books are in, the more likely they are to sell. We do not accept books with odors.
3. Create price labels with WHITE labels. Return address label size works well. You consignment number goes on the upper left corner and the price goes on the upper right corner of the label. Leave space to write on the bottom. Place the price sticker on the upper left-hand corner of the BACK of the book. Periodically, items that do not sell will be discounted. If you prefer to pick the books up instead, indicate with a small NS on the lower left corner.
4. You are free to price your materials as you wish, but here are some guidelines:

Recent edition, new or like new home school materials – 75% of suggested retail

Later editions of home school material or with more wear – 40-50 % of suggested retail or less, depending on age and condition

Children’s fiction and non-fiction – 50% of retail or less, depending on condition.

Other educational materials may be priced at your discretion

5. Items must be priced $1 or more.
6. Heavily used items and used workbooks will not be accepted.
7. Consignors will receive 50 percent of the price the item sells for. Consignors will be paid monthly for items that have sold. If the total is less than $10, it will be rolled over to the next month.
8. Unsold items not picked up within 30 days of notice will become the property of Brainstorm Books.
